Wilde Digital
Decision dashboard

FinTrack: a dashboard that answers what needs deciding this week

Most dashboards show everything and settle nothing. This one is organized around three questions a small business actually asks on a Monday morning.

The situation

FinTrack dashboard showing cash position, budget progress and a weekly review queue
FinTrack as implemented.

Transaction data is available to almost every business and useful to almost none of it, because the interface reports history instead of surfacing decisions.

The design constraint was to end every screen with something to do, not something to look at.

What was built

  • CSV import with categorisation so real transaction data can be loaded without an integration.
  • Cash-flow and budget views scoped to the current period rather than an all-time chart.
  • A weekly review queue: the specific items needing a decision, cleared one at a time.
  • Responsive layout usable on a phone, since the review often happens away from a desk.

Read the source

The repository is public, so the implementation and its tests can be inspected directly rather than taken on trust.
